Usually deep blue/gray in colour, this type of Trefor granite has small prominent white flecks that can be easily spotted throughout the stone. As part of the Trefor granite family, this type of granite is also excellent material for strikebands. It is essential for curling clubs with Trefor granite stones to keep an eye on their strikebands and have them reprofiled approximately every 25 years.

Red / brown Trefor Granite can be found in several shades of brown, and will always have small white and black flecks that run throughout the stone. Red/brown Trefor granite is suitable for both reconditioning and inserting, although inserting is our recommended option as it brings the best of running surface material together with the best granite for strikebands.
